Spyderco Lightweight Native 5 Folder Knife, CPM-S35VN Black SpyderEdge Blade

The Native 5 redefines what a practical and multi-functional cutting tool should be–combining the original size, shape and ergonomics of the classic Native model while incorporating significant design and engineering upgrades. This knife is Spyderco’s first production folder that utilizes Crucible Inc.’s advanced powdered technology in their CPM-S35VN blade steel.
This steel is similar to CPM-S30V but the additional Niobium carbides improves resistance to wear and chipping while still providing increased edge retention properties. The Native 5 models also feature a highly refined back lock mechanism that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the center which represents the pinnacle of strength and ease of operation. The added finger choil with jimping both there are on the spine of the blade provide an opportunity for precision cutting and the enlarged torx screws allow for user-friendly maintenance with easy adjustments. Like most of Spyderco’s popular models, the Native 5 comes in many different models with varying handle materials, handle colors, blade finishes, blade variations and finally blade materials. This model, the C41SBBK5, features a lightweight textured black FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle, a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) black finished fully serrated (SpyderEdge) leaf shaped blade, Spyderco’s trademark round hole opening feature and an ambidextrous 4-way positional pocket clip which allows for a tip up or tip down carry option on either side of the handle.
